THE LAST OF US PART 2 (spoiler free review )

The Last of Us Part II is a 2020 action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. Set five years after The Last of Us (2013), the game focuses on two playable characters in the post-apocalyptic United States whose lives intertwine: Ellie, who sets out for revenge after suffering a tragedy, and Abby, a soldier who becomes involved in a conflict between her militia and a religious cult. The game is played from the third-person perspective and allows the player to fight human enemies and cannibalistic zombie-like creatures with firearms, improvised weapons, and stealth.

Release

After the success of the critically acclaimed “The Last Of Us “ which was the "game of the year" in 2013, Naughty dog released its sequel “The Last Of Us Part 2” in the midst of the pandemic in 2020. Though Naughty Dog is known for their incredibly detailed games like the uncharted series, they couldn’t keep up with the first impressions of the gamers since there had been reports of a “leaked gameplay” which contained all the major spoilers and the climaxes. So they had to delay the release date to bring some changes to the game. Now since you know why the game was delayed let's get straight into the review.

Gameplay

Just like its prequel this game is a 3rd person action survival game with better graphics and details. There are about 12 guns in this game (which may sound a little less), but this has a decent weapon diversity compared to the first game. As this game is PlayStation exclusive it makes the best use of the Playstation 4 console and makes us immerse in its world. The total playtime of this game is about 25 -30 hours depending upon the style of your gameplay.

Graphics

Unlike several late-generation titles, The Last of Us 2 delivers a remarkable degree of performance and image quality parity between the base PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 4 Pro. Its graphics and intricate levels of attention to detail are meant to be experienced by every gamer in this world. When you are in combat you can literally see your enemy's body become into pieces. But despite its gore and violence The Last of Us 2 is a beautiful game with an awesome draw distance and the most detailed facial expressions and environmental graphics.

Playability

You play as Ellie in this dangerous post-apocalyptic world where she hunts down those people who wronged her. the total playtime of this game as I said before is about 25 hours. You play the first half of the game as Ellie and for the rest of 12 hours you play as the newly introduced character called Abby. Unlike the first game, there are a lot of characters in this game and also this game covers many places in the United States

My Verdict

It took me about 30 hours to complete the game and in my opinion, this game was a masterpiece and had an amazing piece of writing. The graphics blew my mind away and it exceeded my expectations. In the games I have played, besides"Red Dead Redemption", This game has the most attention to details and facial expressions. I did not experience any bugs or glitches. The gameplay was fluid and the combat and stealth kills were extremely intense. In some parts of the game, you'll be on the edge of your seat while being chased by a couple of clickers and runners.

Now coming to the story part I think that the game shouldn’t have been more than 20 hours and I felt that some of the characters in this game were unnecessary. The ending was very emotional and Naughty Dog did a great job in doing that. At first, I had a love/hate relationship with the game and I did not know what to think of when I finished it. This game was in my head for months even after I finished it. The ending was a bit controversial for some people (and even me to be honest).

But later I realized that you have to accept some things and move on. There are many parts in this game where you'll feel angry and depressed sometimes, but I think that’s what makes this game a MASTERPIECE as you don't know what to feel about it!

Xbox One X: The Beast You Probably Don’t Want Right Now

Xbox One X: The Beast You Probably Don’t Want Right Now The gaming console market has always had a fierce rivalry between Sony and Microsoft. When we talk about the previous gen, the Xbox 360 clearly had the upper hand against the Sony PS3. But then the tables were reversed when both the companies brought about their current gen consoles, the PS4, and the Xbox One. The PS4 beat the Xbox One out of the park, scoring huge sales numbers, and leading Microsoft to question their marketing strategy. Later on, Microsoft did introduce the  Xbox One S  to compete against the  PS4 Slim , though that was a competition in which there was no clear winner. Now, 4 years since the launch of the original Xbox One, Microsoft has brought about the Xbox One X, the next-gen console, which goes head-to-head with Sony’s  PS4 Pro . The biggest selling point of these next-gen consoles is the ability to play games in native 4K resolution. While the PS4 Pro does pack in quite a punc...
